Topics such as theme, irony, characterization, plot and conflict, symbolism, imagery, and more are discussed and explored using a variety of middle school level literature. The course will focus on close reading and analysis of literature, as well as the study of how various literary elements and techniques function within a text. This class is designed to be paired with the writing class for 6th & 7th graders, but can be taken independently.
