Service Description

This advanced reading and writing workshop is to prepare students for the rigorous reading and writing in high school. This course focuses on reinforcing writing fundamentals at the high school level requirement, including sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, subject-verb agreement, paragraph structure, self-editing, and proofreading. This workshop will also introduce critical reading that allows students to strengthen their reading comprehension skills at a higher level that matches their maturity. This course uses literature from the Civil Rights Movement and is designed to be paired with our social studies class that covers the same topic. About the instructor: Dr Lynch has been a full-time English Language Arts teacher at the high school level for more than 26 years. She is also an advisor for school newspaper and yearbook for her high school. As an avid writer, she has also published several articles in magazines such as Youth and Tech as well as a college textbook on radio broadcasting.
