AP English Seminar

In this special event, Mr. Shawn will be discussing the proven strategies necessary to get a 5 on the AP English exam. He will be discussing each of the two tests (AP Language and AP Literature) with regard to their similarities and differences. He will cover what the AP test graders are looking for in a 5 response and demonstrate examples of a high-scoring and low scoring essay. There will be time at the end for parents and students to ask individual questions as well. 

Mr. Shawn has taught English at the high school AP and college levels for over 20 years. In addition to his experience in the classroom, Mr. Shawn also spent a number of years reading and grading essays for the College Board. His students have won a number of writing awards and been accepted to many presigous universities.
